Bank charge
-
Hello, please help. I want to shut down this site but cannot remember the email address associated with it and therefore cannot follow the account recovery procedure. I can share the charge name that appeared on my bank statement for €66.
I would like to shut this site down as soon as possible. Thank you.

Correct account: Unknown -
Hi,
What is the URL of the site you are trying to access? We’ll be happy to take a look and see if we can help.

Hi there, I can confirm that site is hosted with us.
You should be able to recover the account with your transaction ID: https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#account-recovery-form
You can find the transaction ID by following these steps: https://wordpress.com/support/billing-history/#retrieve-a-transaction-id

Hi, unfortunately I cannot find the transaction ID because I cannot log into my account which hosts dublinfoodclub. I cannot remember the email address and so cannot log in to check my billing history. Is there any other way to prove that it’s my account so I can shut this down? Thank you.

This is how the charge came up on my bank statement, could this be used to prove it’s my account? [redacted by staff]

Hello there,
Many thanks for looking into the bank statement.
It doesn’t look like this is the information we require. Are you able to locate the transaction ID as per these instructions here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/billing-history/#retrieving-a-transaction-id
The bank also may be able to provide this information too…

Thank you, as mentioned, this won’t work for me as I cannot log into the WordPress account that I have for dublinfoodclub as I cannot remember the email address. Therefore, I cannot see the billing history.

You don’t have to access your account’s billing history to retrieve the transaction ID. You can find it in your card statement. Here’s how to get it:

Thank you. I shared the code that appeared on my statement in an earlier post and it’s since been redacted by staff.

The transaction ID needed will be on your bank statement as
WordPressfollowed by a letter/number code. They’ll look like this:WordPress XXXXXXXXXXIf you don’t see it in your bank statement, contact your bank and they should be able to provide that information.
Then enter the charge details at https://wpchrg.wordpress.com/ we should be able to help you with this.
We have hidden what was shared previously since our forum is public we want those details to remain private. But we are missing the rest of the digits in that string, it’s a ten digit number.
Go ahead and put it directly in to the wpchrg form linked above. We don’t need you to post the full code here in the public forum.
