  I am trying to figure out how to add a side banner to my web page. For example I have a book blog and I am trying to put several banners showing books I have read on the side bar. I am taking these images from another website and would like to link back to them.

  Please help!

  Use a text widget. They have to be written in HTML code. You then put them into your sidebar. If your theme doesn’t have a sidebar, and you’re not great with CSS code editing, you can’t add a sidebar. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/text-widget/

  -If your theme supports widgets in your sidebar, you can add a Text widget with your banner code in it, or you can add the code directly to the sidebar.php file of your theme.

  -If your theme supports widgets, go to Appearance -> Widgets. Then, drag a Text widget to the appropriate widget area.

  Thank you!! I believe I have succeeded. Although its look cuts off but I am assuming that is because of my theme’s side bar. Thank you again.
