banner image not working
-
Hello,
In September and August I uploaded a couple of different posts. I have noticed that with my theme you need to upload the image that you want as the banner first and then you can upload an image that will be in the post. I did this and it was working fine until about 2 weeks ago when I noticed that 2 of the images in the banner slideshow had changed. They now use the image from the post as the banner but it doesn’t fit properly and looks really bad. I have tried deleting the images and uploading them again, I have done it in different orders, and even deleted the posts and put them up again. I really don’t know what to do and it looks very unprofessional. It’s also strange because it just happened to two images.
Please let me know how to fix this.
Thank you,
Emma

Could you please let me know to which exact posts you are referring to? this way I can look deeper into the issue and see what’s wrong.

Images are no longer re-sized on the fly, so in this case, I’d recommend using images that either meet or very slightly exceed the dimensions of the area.

I always resize my banner images before I upload them. The problem with these two posts is that it’s not using the image I uploaded at the banner image but instead using the image that is in the post. The banner images were working fine for quite a while but it suddenly changed and I can’t get those posts to use anything but the photo in the post rather than the banner image.

The featured image that have set in the two posts is way too small. It needs to match or exceed the dimensions of the area.
-
I resized the images and now they are much bigger than the required space and it still isn’t working.
The wedding image was 1100 X 498 and now it is 1582 X 905 pixels.
Snorkelling image was 1000 X 417 pixels but now it is 2000 X 834 pixels. This is very confusing. I appreciate the help.
Thanks,

The images seem to be too small still. Did you re-set them as the featured images on the desired posts and update the posts?
-
I am confused; what size do they need to be?
Is 1582 X 905 pixels and 2000 X 834 pixels too small? They are larger than all of the other banner images that I am using that are working fine.
I just went back and double check their sizes, that they were selected as the feature image and that I updated and it’s still not working. Any ideas?
I really appreciate your help.
Thanks,

Modularity Lite requires a minimum size of 950 pixels by 425 pixels for the featured image. Your images should be fine. I don’t see any difference when I compare those two posts with your other posts.
Could you please try and delete the image on that post, so not just remove the featured image but really delete the image. And re-upload and set it to a featured image again.
I’m sorry for this hassle, thank you for your patience.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had already deleted the old banner images but after your suggestion I deleted the photos that are in the wedding blog and re-uploaded them and now the wedding photo post is working :) But unfortunately I tried the exact same trick with the snorkelling photos and it didn’t work. Any ideas? This just doesn’t make sense to me. Why would it suddenly stop working?
Thanks,

The snorkeling image still appears to be too small. What is the title of the image in your Media library that you’re trying to use?
