banner in updated Vigilance theme
-
I want to complain about this awful, tasteless banner that comes as a div footer in new Vigilance theme, writing:
“Theme: Vigilance by The Theme Foundry. Blog at WordPress.com.”
It’s really annoying as it covers my posts.
Redesign it, for God’s sake. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

AGREE 1000000%. My readers have asked me what I’ve done and how can I get rid of it, ASAP. They hate it too.
That pop-up footer also comes up in the Pilcrow by Automattic theme and it drives me crazy.

It would be great if wordpress found a better way to pay credits to the theme creator.
But this just gives discomfort while reading.
You don’t need a master degree in web design to see it.If wordpress staff don’t change it, I will have to switch to tumblr where they respect elegance.

What you are seeing is the result of Staff introducing “infinite scroll”. The good news is that you can disable “infinite scroll” and that tasteless pop-up will disappear. Staff have introduced “infinite scroll” to some themes and will be implementing it on all themes that have a suitable structure for infinite scroll. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/to-infinity?replies=137
The workaround works. Please try it. See 3 (a,b,c) here > Disabling Infinite Scroll on Your WordPress.com Blog

The workaround does work. But it would be a little easier to navigate through if the instructions were correct. I believe that step #3 should read:
“If you use a theme without footer widgets that does have infinite scroll”
Instead of:
“If you do not use a theme without footer widgets that does have infinite scroll”
