Banning specific commenters

Two people, both advertising the same thing so they’re presumably linked, have each posted about 60 spam comments on my blog over the last few days. The comments went into the spam folder and I’ve deleted them, but I’m finding it very unnerving.

Is there a way of banning particular “people” (I use the word “people” loosely) from commenting from my blog? Thank you. They’re just posting adverts for Viagra etc, so I doubt anyone would want them commenting on their blogs – is there some way of banning them completely?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Add their email addresses and/or names to your Disallowed Comments list, and those comments will go straight to the trash: https://wordpress.com/support/settings/discussion-settings/#comment-moderation

However, if they’re spam, just leave them as-is. Comments marked as spam inside the spam folder are automatically purged every 15 days.

Thanks. I’ve just found some similar spam comments on my other blog. The two blogs are completely unconnected, so I don’t know if these spambots or whatever they are are targeting Word Press in general at the moment.
