Basics, I cannot figure them out.

I’m brand new to managing Worpress on my own, I have published and used it before though. I know virtually nothing, and am very easily confused.
I’d like my blog posts to appear immediately on the main page, rather than there being a “Home” tab, where I cannot post things under.

So, with what I started, I was unable to find out how to create a “Parent” category to file things under. So WordPress by default had one called “About” and I tried changing that to suit my purposes, and then filed things under that. Relatively tidy, but I do want my blog posts to appear in the main page, most recent being at the top obviously.

Your Home tab is your Main page.
May I suggest maybe reading through some of the articles in this link to familiarize yourself a bit with the process.

This is really handy. This is a 10 step guide that shows you the basics. It is really easy to read and goes exactly step by step. http://learn.wordpress.com/

Also you can go to the dashboard then look in the column on the left near the bottom and you will see the word “privacy”. If you click “privacy” it gives you the choice to set the blog so that nobody but you can see it. That way you can write and click and write and change settings and tear it up as bad as ya wanna and nobody but you will be able to see what you are doing.

After you get comfortable with it you can go to the same place and change the privacy settings to that people can find you again and see your blog. You can’t tear anything up. You can delete the whole page if you get frustrated. Play with the settings. Don’t be intimidated by them. Anything you change you can change back.

    VERY good advice!

That article had a lot of things that I did not care for, but it did co-incidentally draw my attention to how I made my mistake:
My blog post, i made it under “new page” rather than “new post”, which really caused alot of confusion. Either way, it appears to have solved the issue, thanks for replying.
