Baskerville 2
-
I don’t understand how to use the grid-like features of this theme. Anything I post just appears in the standard format, despite choosing various “formats” such as quote or gallery. Ideally, I’d like to have some text on the left and maybe another text box on the right. How on earth do I do this, or do I need to edit HTML or CSS to do this? It’s not user-friendly at all.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @krudyard,
I am using the same theme. When you publish more than one post and do the below
Go to My Site(s) → Customize(Beside the Themes option) or just click here: https://wordpress.com/customize/. This will open the site Customizer.
2. On the sidebar of the Customizer click on the Static Front page → Your latest posts.will display all your posts in grid like structure.
Hope this helps.
Thank you.

krudyard – let me know if you still need help with this. As iamrishaan mentioned, since you only have one post so far, you aren’t seeing the grid layout yet.
Ideally, I’d like to have some text on the left and maybe another text box on the right.
Do you mean on your blog itself, or on individual post pages, like https://idlerams.wordpress.com/2017/09/13/shakespeare/ ?
If you want a more standard blog display where the posts are on the left and there’s a sidebar on the right where you can add widgets, a different theme might suit you better. Here are a couple of two-column themes you might want to check out:
Nucleare – https://nuclearedemo.wordpress.com/
Button – https://button2demo.wordpress.com/
Lovecraft – https://lovecraftdemo.wordpress.com/
Anything I post just appears in the standard format, despite choosing various “formats” such as quote or gallery.
You can see how different post formats look on the Baskerville 2 demo: https://baskerville2demo.wordpress.com/ “Outside of the Frame” is a gallery and “Wise Words” is a quote, for example.

I changed my theme to Bakersfield2 and when I did, it erased or hid all my site as though I was starting over. Can anyone help? I sure hope I haven’t lost all my information.
Thanks all -
callender – when you switch themes, post, page, and widget content is not lost. You may need to reset widget and menu locations, and re-set your custom CSS. If you need further help, please start your own thread, provide a link to your site, and let us know specifically what you need help with.

Hi everyone,
I’ve just set up my first blog with the Baskerville 2 theme.
However, I’ve also noticed that when I try to select different styles for a post, they look nothing like in the demo (e.g. gallery or quote or even video).
How can I get it right? Thanks!
