Baskerville 2 Homepage Not Loading Properly
-
I just switched over from a retired theme to Baskerville 2. It worked great for two days and now the home page does not load properly. There is a huge blank space and you have to scroll to the bottom of the page to see any posts. To any visitor, they would think the page is not loading. This is not a problem on mobile devices, only larger screens (laptops, desktops). The blog I need help with is http://cashsavvypanda.wordpress.com
I’ve already read through https://wordpress.com/theme/baskerville-2/cashsavvypanda.wordpress.com and the answer is not on there. Please help!

Hey cashsavvypanda,
It may have happened because of an ad but now everything looks good.

Hi cashsavvypanda,
I’ve checked your homepage and the posts are loading — there are no blank spaces. Can you confirm whether everything looks okay on your end now?
-
hi,
I can confirm @cashsavvypanda’s issue.
I managed to take a screenshot of the issue.
https://screenshots.firefox.com/7Ebs2xKYEVZMt8DY/cashsavvypanda.wordpress.comIt loads the posts normally at the beginning and after a short while they disappear off the page, appearing only when you scroll down.

Hi kosiew,
Thanks for the screenshot. I was also seeing this blank space before we implemented a fix but the posts are now loading on my end, even when I scroll past the first few. Do you still see a blank space after clearing your browser cache?
-
I tested on :
1. Microsoft Edge – loads with posts top-aligned.
2. Firefox, Chrome (after clearing cached images, files) – loads initially with the posts top-aligned. After a while, they align to bottom and leave a large blank like the previous screenshot. -
Hi cashsavvypanda,
Just stopping by to give you an update. Our developers have deployed a fix for this issue, which was caused by the way certain ads were interacting with your theme.
Please let me know if you have any more trouble.

I’m having the exact same issue with my site. Posts appear and disappear. Pleas help.

@ facultyjacobin We implemented a fix for the earlier issue. Since this is a different issue from the one in the original post, could you start a new topic here?
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1You can add a “modlook” tag if you’d like to get staff attention.
That way the people who worked on this topic won’t get unwanted notifications as we troubleshoot your issue. Thanks!

Eh, thanks but I’m just going to change themes. I’ve already had a dead page for five days without realizing it. This was a known issue; my page was having the exact same problem as the OP. Nice them, but not if it’s going to kill my page without warning.

@facultyjacobin, this is not the exact same issue. The issue originally reported in this thread was regarding ads on sites that were preventing some themes from loading correctly.
Not only has that issue since been fixed, but you have a Premium Plan on your site and it doesn’t show any ads, so it is completely impossible that it is the same issue.
