Baskerville 2: one article covering another

  • Unknown's avatar

Since a couple of days I noticed that frequently articles are covering part of another article making invisible part of its text and/or buttons. This is a new problem that I have not been able to resolve. Any advice? Thanks!

  • Hi there! I see a couple of your sites are using this theme, and you have a few additional sites in addition to those, which is great!

So that we can understand exactly what you are seeing, can you pass us a link to a specific example from your site that conveys what you are describing? Thanks so much!

Hi, Thanks for getting back to me.

On my site CultuurPuntCat (https://catalaansecultuurblog.wordpress.com/) right now the second column is a problem, where the first post with the embedded tweet is partly hidden by the second about the Sagrada Família. You can hardly see the sharing buttons and the Like button has disappeared completely.

On the Catalan Women site the first column is worse, as part of the text of the first post (the same with the embedded tweet) has disappeared under the second one ‘Typewriting as an art’.

I hope this information is sufficient; if not, I could send you a screen dump per email.

I would be very grateful if you could suggest a possible solution, as I am very fond of this theme.

    Thanks!

    Two additional remarks:

    – I owe you the link to my Catalan Women site: https://catalanwomen.wordpress.com/

    – the problem repeats itself, although with a different combination of posts, on the desktop version as well as the cellphone one. In both cases the post with the embedded tweet is involved. Could this be part of the problem?

    Thanks again!

  • I’m not seeing this myself, but I may be looking at the wrong thing.

Would you please use https://snipboard.io to provide a screenshot of what you’re seeing?

In an attempt to help solve this issue I analyzed what happens when the homepage is loading.

When the post with the embedded tweet is loaded, first only the tweet’s text appears and the layout of the page is fine. Some seconds later the tweet’s image appears and the post gets longer, but the layout does not adapt itself, so that the upper post disappears beneath the lower one.

    I also did two experiments:
    – with another post plus embedded tweet the same error occurs
    – on another desktop and another browser the same happens.

On CultuurPuntCat I just posted a short article and made another screenshot: https://snipboard.io/AxFobp.jpg

    I hope this helps.

    Marga

  • Hi there,

I can’t replicate that on my mobile phone. All the posts on both sites are displayed correctly on my end.

What mobile phone and what browser are you using? Please let me know the model and version of your phone’s OS as well as the version of your browser.
