Baskerville 2 Post Preview Formatting
-
Hello! I have been trying to find a solution to this without creating my own post, but I can’t find anything anywhere.
Basically I am wondering if it’s possible to retain post formatting within the post’s grid preview. I have a lot of poetry posts in my webpage and I don’t like that in the post preview, it clumps all the lines into one paragraph and it looks really chaotic. The spacing and formatting looks great on the actual post when you click on it, but I don’t want the preview to show a big club of words.
Thank you!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

My problem could also be solved if I could put line breaks in the post preview? If anyone knows if you can do that.

Hi there,
Basically I am wondering if it’s possible to retain post formatting within the post’s grid preview.
Automatic post excerpts in WordPress do not contain any HTML formatting, not even line breaks. This is how the WordPress software itself is designed to work, so it works this way regardless of what theme you’re using.
If you want to use excerpts on the front page, you’ll then need to create manual excerpts, and you’ll need to manually add the HTML code you need for the formatting you want visible. If a post has a manual excerpt set, it will then display that manual excerpt, including any HTML formatting, and if a post has no excerpt set, it will show the automatic excerpt without any formatting.
You can set a manual excerpt on a post from within the editor.
