Baskerville 2 "Read more" break
-
Hi,
I have tried to insert into my Baskerville 2 theme a “read more” tag from the editing menu and also by putting the text <!–more Read more–> , but neither of it worked.
Can anybody help me if there are other ways to set “Read more” in Baskerville2?
Thanks,

Hello @ambruskovacs!
You can learn more about “Read more” tags here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/more-tag/
Also, are we talking about this website: https://ujraterveztem.wordpress.com?

From what I see, this site (https://ujraterveztem.wordpress.com) is using the twentysixteen theme, so I’m sure you are talking about another website.
Will be waiting for your reply with the link of the site you need help with, too!

Hi there Ambrus,
Can you clarify which page or post you have tested this on, and where you are viewing it in order for it not to load? If you could provide a link to somewhere that you have added the read more tag for me, that would help us to understand the problem!
The ‘read more’ function only displays in certain places on pages depending on your theme, however it should work on posts.
There is a lot of information about this on the ‘Read More’ tags pages: https://en.support.wordpress.com/more-tag/

Hi,
thanks for all your answers. The page is ujraterveztem.hu – in case of the first blog post you can even see the manual page break inserted (but displays only as a text)

I’m trying to look over your site (https://ujraterveztem.hu) but I can’t find the post you talk about. Can you please give me a full link over here?

Hi ambruskovacs,
Noticed the following was on your blogpost
<!–more Tovább–>You should instead use
<!--more Tovább!-->Also note: Click on the HTML tab in the upper right corner of the post editing area to open the HTML Editor.
Detailed instructions are available here – https://en.support.wordpress.com/more-tag/
Do let me know if that worked.
thanks

Quick correction on my previous suggestion
<!--more Tovább-->Also note the dash used in your blogpost is longer dash and is incorrect, I would suggest you copy paste the above code or use the read more button first and then move to the html editor.

Hi agounder,
I have tried to copy paste your correction, but does not work either. I have tried the read more button as well, but was not working…

Hi ambruskovacs,
I ran a few tests on the theme that you are using the theme that you have.
Note that the theme has to options for displaying posts on the homepage 1. Post Excerpts and Full Posts.
The read more tag will work only if the post is set to full post.
The Option is available in customize (My Sites > Theme [click customize button])
Once in Customize, the options are under – Content options > Blog Display.
Do note the read more tag that I gave you above is the correct one you should use.
thanks

Sorry a lot of typos in that last reply… find corrected one to avoid any confusion.
Hi ambruskovacs,
I ran a few tests on the theme that you are using.
Note that the theme has two options for displaying posts on the homepage.
1. Post Excerpts and 2. Full Posts.
The read more tag will work only if this is set to Full Post.
The Display Option is available in customize (My Sites > Theme [click customize button])
Once in Customize, the options are under – Content options > Blog Display.
Do note: the read more tag that I gave you above is the correct one you should use.
thanks
