Baskerville 2 Template issue
-
Hi,
I’m using the Baskerville 2 template for a new website. I’m trying to edit the header image and noticed it has a grey filter over top. I think the grey filter is there to make the white text pop more, but I’m adding my own text and I wanted it to be a white background on the image. The grey is making the white background, black text, and odd hints of bright colours very muted, not at all what I’m going for.
Is there any way to get rid of this grey filter on the header image? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You’re right – the overlay is there to prevent text from becoming washed out (Baskerville 2’s header image works best as a background behind the title text).
The only way to remove it would be with Custom CSS (part of a Premium Plan or Business Plan).
In that case, you could add the following snippet under My Site > Customize > CSS:
.header .cover { display: none; }If you try it out, let me know how it looks! :)

Hi chad1008.
That’s what I suspected. Thanks so much for the quick reply.
If I decide to go Premium, I’ll give it a shot and post onto this forum how it looks!

Hi Chad,
I have another question concerning the header.
I recently started with several websites with Baskerville 2.
One of them: https://zichtbarezaken.wordpress.comInstead of a title and subtitle tag (text) for the banner I placed a logo (image). Thus only the url is displayed in the title banner. Which makes it hard for Google to find the name of the site.
How do I get the site title and the subtitle back without putting them into settings | general or the customizer, which make the text popup under the logo image…
Thanks in advance. for responding.

Hi Huub, I’d suggest you add a Site Title and Tagline in your Customizer’s Site Identity panel. As long as you leave the “Display Site Title and Tagline” box unchecked, the Site Title and Tagline will not be displayed on the front end of your site, but will still be displayed in the browser title bar, and in other places that search engines will see.
Could you give that a try and let me know how it goes?
