Baskerville 2 Theme – The logo suddenly disappeared
-
I liked the Baskerville 2 Theme, among other things, because of the logo that appears above the title, which looks especially nice on mobile phone screens. However, as of yesterday, my logo is no longer displayed. Why? I went to Customize / Site Identity / Select logo… a million times and chose the same logo which I had used before. It appeared for a moment. Everything seems to be the same as before, and then it disappears.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
The site logo is displaying on your site https://putoljupka.wordpress.com/. Are you still not seeing it?
-
Hi there,
I can also see your logo.
Can you check if clearing your browser cache or using a different browser makes any difference on your end?
-
-
First, please make sure that your browser is up to date: https://browsehappy.com/
If it is not, please try updating your browser or switching to a different browser.
If it is, please do these two things:
1. Try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies.
2. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.
Please let us know how each step goes for you, and which browser (and version of) you’re using if you’re still having trouble.

I use 3 different browser.. and mobile…
If I change “title” no problem it will change.
BUT if I change logo (and save), after nothing.
When I come back for check logo… it removed !
I used this theme since many years… and I have this problem since 2 days.. so I think there is a problem but I don’t know why.

What is the link to the file you tried to save in your Media library?
I’ll see if we encounter the same issue on this end.
-
Everything is O.K. on my blog now. I have no problem displaying the logo anymore. Thank you all.

I tested change with apps Android and mobile site same problem.
When I go to “identity” and change logo (and save).
When I refresh there is nothing…
So in fact it doesn’t save the logo.
Very strange because during many years there is no problem with logo.

Ah, this is the key from the Quick Specs at https://wordpress.com/theme/baskerville-2
The Site Logo appears at a maximum width of 600 and height of 150.
The image you’re trying to use is 640×210. You’ll need to re-size it in your image editor of choice to be no larger than 600×150.

Hi there!
@dragoncity17 I believe that you’ve been affected by a bug that’s been described here: https://github.com/Automattic/wp-calypso/issues/54055.Could you please try this workaround and let us know if that worked for you? Open a post/page in the editor and insert a Site Logo block. Replace the image with the desired logo and save the post. You can then delete the block from the post or the whole post altogether.

Yes it’s an bug… Very Boring :-/
Hum I created a new private article and add image inside (use same image).
After that again change logo but doesn’t work.
Maybe it’s not that I need to do… Please told me exactly I will try.
Thank you for your help :)

I use small like 256×256 same problem…
The file needs to be smaller than 600×150.
256 pixels wide may be smaller than 600 pixels wide, but 256 pixels high is still larger than 150 pixels high.

This IS not an problem of Size because you Can “modify” after upload if it’s too large.
This IS an bug.

Great ! that work !!! :)
Thank you for your help !!! :)
Just amazing because after that if I want change logo I need to do the same thing.

Hi there,
Just amazing because after that if I want change logo I need to do the same thing.
I understand that’s frustrating and I apologize for that. The bug is already on our developers’ radar and you won’t need to do that once the bug has been fixed. If you want, you can check the status of the bug here: https://github.com/Automattic/wp-calypso/issues/54055
