Baskerville – make one single post visable on a static front page
-
I tried this Q in the support forum some days ago with no luck :)
I`ve gotten some comments about my website-services and now need to make this comment-post visable on my static front page.
Is this possible? To show it like a “stream/feed” if you scroll further down my front page?
I have tried making it non-static but then it just shows all my posts…I need only this one to be visable..
This is the post I need to have visability on on the front page :
Other than that I dont want to change the look of my front page.
Maybe there is a widget that can do this?
I have spent hours trying to figure this out, so last try is getting help from you!
And I really appreciate any tips on how to figure this out :)The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You could try using the Display Posts shortcode for that:
The post ID is 66.
Let me know how it goes.

Thank you kathrynwp :)
I was starting to get the hang of CSS a while ago but now I seem to have forgotten it :(
I use this code, oicket up from your link:
`.page-id-3 .post-content [display-posts id=66]
but nothing happens :) So I figure I have missed out on a “dot” or something..
Could you please help me to get the code correct? -
The shortcode is something you’d put into the post/page editor, not in the CSS editor.
The post ID should be in quotes, so put this in the editor while editing your homepage, below your existing content:
[display-posts id="66"]That will display that specific post on your homepage, below the existing text in the main content area.

Thanks again Kathrynwp :)
I actually tried this also earlier but its not working.
All that happens is that a link appears to the post I want visable, but I need it visable like wievable, not just a link :)I have left it there so you can see what I mean :)
I could take screenshots of all the contant of the post, the paste them into the post, but it just seem so…amateurish… :)
-
If you’d like to include the full content of the post as well as the title, add the include_content argument.
So the shortcode becomes:
[display-posts id="66" include_content="true"]Give that a go and let me know how it looks.
-
No, sorry, looks the same :(
hihi.. :)
Just to make this clear:
-You want me to go to my front page
-Edit – beep beep boop…
-Enter the code as you wrote it in the edito just below all the other writings there?I have tried this now in both “visual” and “html” just to check
-
Post 66 (title “Din mening”) is currently empty, that’s why its content is not displaying. All that’s there is an empty tag, which you can see if you flip to the Visual Editor.
<h4></h4>Once you add some text content it should appear on the page in which you’ve used the shortcode.
-
Oh my I see…but its definatly not empty, its full of reviews from my customers..
Its empty in the way that I have not written anything here my self yes, agree.
So…how to resolve this… ():
-
The only thing on that page is comments:
http://treningonline.no/2015/09/16/si-din-mening/
The Display Post shortcode can only pull in post content that you’ve added in the editor, not comments. :)
-
I am sad to hear that…but on the other hand I dont have to feel like an idiot anymore..
Then I guess I`ll have to add them as screenshots anyway..
I apreciate all your help and patience kathrynwp :)
