Baskerville Theme. – No editing allowed of post footer Re: Author & Site link.
-
Hi. Using ‘Baskerville’ Theme on free account – wordpress.com. Lovely theme. At the foot of each post it displays my name as author and links to my ‘Main’ WordPress.com site. I have searched and it seems I cannot change this unless I upgrade to Premium and get control of CSS etc. I wasn’t planning on upgrading right now. Was wondering if there might be a way around it. Essentially I do not want my name showing nor my Main site being linked to …. My thoughts are …. Could I get a friend or create another, totally new/seperate WordPress account …. allow them editing access to my present account and have their name appear somehow! …. my main irritation is the linking to my main site. There MUST be some reason its linking to this particular site! I have maybe twenty sites/blogs in my account …. why has it picked this one? …. I didn’t know until seeing this that I had a ‘Main’ site on the account. Perhaps this ‘Main’ choice/default can be changed to a different one? …. ideally it might link back to the Kew blog itself ….. Any help, thoughts, ideas or suggestions appreciated. Many thanks in advance. CM

Hi @charlesmolloy!
That link is grabbing the Web Address set in your WordPress.com profile:
https://wordpress.com/me/account
You can change that, or leave it blank for no link at all :)

Amazing. Thank you chad800. It worked. It means I have learned a lot. It certainly may well be useful at another time should I need to link to a site. Keeping the site minimal without too much distraction helps as I get started and focused and decide how I want it to develop etc. many thanks again for your clear, swift and accurate solution. Appreciated. CM
