Batch Applying Tags to published entries
-
I just created several tags in WordPress and I want to now add these tags retroactively to my published entries. Can this be done?

Hi. In order to assist you, we need the URL of your blog, starting with http:// please. Thanks.

Hi! You don’t need the “www” — that’s automatically dropped by wordpress.com.
I don’t believe there’s a way to batch add tags. However, if you can go to your “All Posts” page in your dashboard, you can filter by category (if you have assigned the same category/ies to most of the posts you want to add the tag to), and then do “quick edit” for each of the posts and add the tag that way. It is fairly quick, though obviously not as fast as doing it by the batch. If there is a way to do that, I’d love to know! :) (You can bulk delete tags, though, simply by deleting the tag itself.)
You can also change tags to categories and vice versa: http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/categories/
and -
To bulk add a tag, you go to Posts > All Posts, tick the white squares to select the posts you want, select Edit from the Bulk Actions pulldown, click Apply, type the tag in the Post Tags field, click Update.

Totally cool, panos! I’ve bluk edited for other things, but didn’t know I could do it for tags. Duh!

You’re welcome!
The real limitation of the Bulk Edit option is that you can’t use it to selectively remove a tags or a category. -
I think that’s what I’d tried to do and remembered wasn’t possible, so I’d thought the “add” was the same. :)
