Batch upload of articles

  I’ve got a collection of quite a few articles and I would like to post them all at once to my blog. Since WordPress doesn’t have a specific feature to do that (AFAIK), do you know any good method I can use to avoid posting the lot of them one by one?

  What format are they currently in? Like word files or something you exported from elsewhere?

  You may want to look at a poster like blogdesk or something simular if you just have them in text.

  I have them all in a Word file (one per page). I can see Blogdesk lets me edit posts offline, but I don’t see a way to use it for my goal.
  I’m thinking that maybe I could take advantage of WordPress’s import feature in some way. I could first export an empty post and then replicate it a few hundred times in the same file, and paste my articles inside every one of those exported empty posts. Finally, I would import the whole file to WordPress and voilà!
  The tricky part is to edit those hundreds of articles in a more-or-less automated way so that they meet the format specifications when I paste them.

  But perhaps (and this is the reason I posted here) somebody here knows a better way to upload multiple posts at once :)

  The only means we have of uploading multiple posts is via compatible import or via rss.

  There is no means of uploading multiple posts in WORD to a wordpress.com blog and be aware that WORD is problematic http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/11/09/why-not-to-use-word/

  That being said the least problematic way to upload WORD documents to your blog is to upload them one at a time into posts as you would an image. http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/07/what-filetypes-can-i-upload/

  I think if you’re going to go through all that, you mind as well copy and paste.

  It’s not going to be fun. With them in Word and all the garbage html it uses, you’re going to have formatting problems copying and pasting. Make sure you use the text editor within wordpress instead of the rich text editor, the one with the icons. You can switch between the editors at Dashboard -> users -> your profile -> uncheck that box near the top and click on “Save changes”
