BB Press forum service

  It would be great if BBPress was available on WordPress.com or if another forum service is available. I don’t like the idea of having to get hosting for a forum elsewhere.

  There are several Forum Host services, you can signup with them and link to them.

  If you have a custom domain name mapped to your blog here, some of the Forum Hosts will (for a small fee) let you map a Forum to a sub-domain of your blog here – so all is not lost

  At present there are no chatboxes or forums I am aware of that can be embedded into free hosted WordPress.com blogs. There is no FTP access and we cannot install plugins.

  However, you have three free workaround forum options: http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/04/23/wordpress-com-forum-options/

  One approach is to register a forum on the internet and then create a custom menu in your blog and include a custom link to the forum in it.

  @auxclass I don’t really want to have to spend money on it but I do really want a forum for my site so that we can help people with their problems and questions about tech.

  Many forum sites are free (but many have ads to pay for the free) – you can link to them as @TT notes above – the sub-domain part is extra
