Before I get started
-
1. If I set up a blog from an starter template, will I have the ability later to move all the information to an alternate design, upgraded design, custom design, etc. In other words, I don’t want to publish my blog for a year, then find that I am stuck with the limitations of the initial template.
2. I currently own the domain name for the future web site through Go Daddy. Any issues with then coupling the blog with a future web site?
3. Does any simple template allow for ads?

1. The only themes we can use on free hosted wordpress.com blogs are found here > Apperance > Themes and changing themes takes mionutes only. It’s not cvomplicated at all. All upgrades are for one year and for one blog only. If you fail to renew an custom design upgrade scroll to the bottom of the FAQs to read what happens http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questions
2. You can purchase a domain mapping upgrade and map from a .wordpress.com blog to an existing domain.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/3. No. There is only one advertising program called WordAds at WordPress.com and it’s for blogs on their own domains. This is the homepage for the WordAds program: http://www.wordads.co/ There you will find the application page as well as FAQs.

Aside from a blog being accepted into WordAds, no blogger initiated advertising, retailing or reselling the work or products created or services provided by anyone other than yourself is allowed on free hosted wordpress.com blogs. E-commerce transactions via shopping carts and the like cannot be conducted on free blogs from and being free hosted by wordpress.com

1. Thank you. I don’t need to know how right now, Please understand my question in the simplest terms – I don’t want to go to FAQs because they are vague or use circular references. My concern is to invest a lot of time (as I did on Typepad,) only to find that I am stuck with the limitations of that template. Starting from a basic template, and having amassed a lot of history, archives, etc, will I then be able to migrate all that history to another theme, or more advanced custom design as I develop my needs?
2. I currently own a domain name. Will I be able to later associate my blog with that future website?
3. Can a blog created from a basic template later be accepted into WordAds?My concern is to start a blog and later find that I have wasted a lot of time, because I should have chosen another template/design/package to start with, and have to totally start from scratch
