  Hello, I’m Mercy and I just joined WordPress. I haven’t published anything but there are publications in my site. Is my site open for anyone to publish or is it private, kindly help with that.

  What is the URL of your site?
  There should not be any publications on your site if you have not posted anything but then again some themes come with placeholder content. Would you mind sharing a link to one of these publications so that we can help you further?

  I’m guessing it’s filler content, too. @hertakedaily, if there’s any filler content you don’t want on the site, you can remove it here:
  https://wordpress.com/pages

  and here:
  https://wordpress.com/posts

  And, for pages you want to keep while changing the content that’s there, just click edit and make whatever changes you like.
