Beginner Help

So I am new to WordPress, was using a simple theme before, and wanted to switch. I like the idea of an image and then grid style of current posts on the home page, but for some reason I am not even able to do that. I tried following the basic instructions and I just get a page with the image, no posts no nothing. I had to revert back to my old theme until I know better what to do. Didn’t even have a Blog page cause my old theme, posts were on the front page which I am ok with…??? What do you recommend I do?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there – which theme were you having trouble setting up? I see a few in your history. If you let me know which theme, I can point you in the right direction.

byebyecanada – I don’t see Edin on byebyecanada.wordpress.com now, but maybe you’ve switched back to Dyad 2. It’s a bit tricky to troubleshoot without seeing the theme active on your site.
I like the idea of an image and then grid style of current posts on the home page,
Edin doesn’t display posts in a grid, it displays them one after the other vertically, in a traditional blog format. You can see this on the demo site: https://edindemo.wordpress.com/blog/
Are you looking for another theme that displays posts in a grid? Here are a few you might want to look at:
Pictorico – https://pictoricodemo.wordpress.com/
Cubic – https://cubicdemo.wordpress.com/
Baskerville 2 – https://baskerville2demo.wordpress.com/If you’re looking for something specific in addition to a post grid, just let me know.

miamajstorovic – please try following the steps in the Sketch setup guide:

Hi there !
I have the same problem using Dara Theme, in the model there is the option of a “blog” page. But I cannot see or find my posts in the blog. I dont know if I can do it like the Dara model

Thank you for the reply and yes switched my theme back as could not get Edin to work they I wanted. The other sample themes you suggested are more image block/cube type which is not what I want but thank you. I did look at the link you sent me for Edin, but here is another link from Edin, and this is what I was looking for…..maybe not possible or I am mis interpreting what can be done with this theme…. https://edindemo.wordpress.com/page-templates/grid-page/
Thanks

Marc – thanks for the link, that helps me understand what you’re looking for!
https://edindemo.wordpress.com/page-templates/grid-page/
This page has the Grid Page template applied. It displays pages, not posts. If you’re not sure about the difference between posts and pages, check out:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/To apply a Grid Page template to a page, there are two basic steps:
- Open the page in the editor and choose the Grid Page template from the Page Attributes box: https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-options/
- Create child pages of your page and make sure they all have a featured image
If you’re looking to display your blog posts in a grid layout, just keep in mind that the Grid Page template will not work for your purpose, It only displays pages, not posts.
Let me know if I can help you further.

You’re welcome. If I can help you find a theme that better meets your needs, just let me know. Other themes that display posts in a grid include Altofocus, Apostrophe 2, and Rebalance.
