beginner issues

I wrote my first post but didn’t push “Publish”. Now that button is not there anymore.
How can I get it back/how do I publish?
Also, I created an Avatar picture and I thought it would appear next to my post but it didn’t. How can I get it there? The cropped image is not on my computer.
Lastly, when I view my blog on the web, it still has clickable links to edit the page. Why is that?

In reverse order
(3) If you are viewing your blog on the web while your are signed on to wordpress this would explain the clickable “edit” links.
(2) Avatars have a time delay before they display everywhere. I can see yours now. Avatars display on the wordpress.com tag pages, in forum posts and on the comments you make on your own blogs and other wordpress.com blogs, provided you are signed into wordpress. (1) Dashboard -> Manage -> Posts
click “Status” (select drafts) and then click “Filter”
locate the post and click edit – once it’s open publish it.
