Beginner needs help

This is my first blog ever. So I have a few questions. When I type in Kevin corbett blog, why are there many blogs that come up on google with my name (apparently there are many Kevin Corbett’s with blogs) but mine does not show up. I’ve had a blog about two weeks now. Any tips for me?

It can take up to 6 months before your blog will start to place higher in Google search engines. It takes time to build search engine ranking.
You can speed up the process by verifying your blog with Google, Yahoo and Bing by following the instructions in this support document: http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/ .

Also, categorize and tag your posts appropriately to help the search engines place your posts in searches. Use no more than 12 total tags + categories so that you will appear on the wordpress.com global tags pages – which will contribute to your search engine ranking. Never leave posts set to “uncategorized.”
