  I have a free account.
  1) How can I create my own theme instead of using the free themes provided?
  2) How can I edit a free theme in order to change its layout?
  3) How can I have a footer image and not a header image?
  4) How can I change font styles and size without using Heading 1, Heading 2, etc.?
  5) How can I manually place an image in a specific place on my page, rather than on sidebar and footer?

  Hi there:

  1. With either the Premium or Business plan upgrade, you can modify the CSS of any existing theme, but you cannot upload or create a custom made theme.

  2. See #1

  3. This really depends on the theme involved. I’m not familiar with any themes that support an image footer, although you could probably add an image widget to your theme’s footer if supported.

  4. In the Customizer you can choose from a limited set of alternate fonts. We cannot use any other fonts. https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-fonts/

  5. You can upload and insert media in any Post or Page following this guide https://en.support.wordpress.com/add-media/

  @23amao – be aware that tutorials intended for the standalone WP software will have little relevance for your WordPressdotcom site. That is the reason I pointed you to our Support tutorials and guides.
