Beginning website with a domain I own and a purchased theme

Hi, I am trying to begin a new website using the premium plan and map the domain to an existing url. When I start using https://wordpress.com/start/domains/mapping, the wordpress url generated is random. If I purchase the premium plan, will visitors from my domain see this domain or the randomly generated url when on my site?

You will need a WordPress.com subdomain for your site, however, when you map a custom domain to it, nobody will see the underlying subdomain anymore.
The site address doesn’t have to be random, you can type in the desired address – if it’s not available then you’d see a variation of what you typed, but you can, instead, type another address until you find one you like.Here’s more information about domains if you need it:
