Behance Prosite doesn't recognize rss feed url

  • Unknown's avatar

When I enter my feed url suzanneyee.wordpress.com/feed/
into the Prosite site builder, I get a message that that blog is not available. I’ve contacted Behance Prosite support, and they say when they enter the url into their reader (Digg), they get “no results found”.

However, when I enter the feed url into my own reader (Vienna), it pulls up the blog just fine.

Does anyone else have problems getting my blog through their rss feed reader? Or has anyone else experienced this with Behance Prosite?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

As you stated above this is your feed URL
    http://suzanneyee.wordpress.com/feed/
It does not validate so I’ll tag this thread for a Staff follow-up. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

    Sorry

    This feed does not validate.

In addition, interoperability with the widest range of feed readers could be improved by implementing the following recommendation.

@suzanneyee – It looks like there were some invalid characters in a few of your blog posts. I went ahead and cleaned them up. Your feed is validating correctly on my side. Can you give this another try?

Thanks, it seems to be working now. What were the invalid characters, just so I can watch out for that in the future?

    Hi suzanneyee,

Basically, it’s just characters that are not proper UTF-8, which means they don’t render correctly in browsers. It usually occurs when you copy and paste content frequently from other sources/programs. Tracking them down is a bit hard, mainly because they won’t be displayed in the post editor. You’ll need to copy and paste the content into a text editor. Then, you’ll see something like this:

The “DLE” is an invalid character.

If this happens abruptly in the future, you may want to take your last two to three posts and paste their content into a text editor. If there are any errors, you can remove them and repaste the content into your post. However, it’s pretty rare so don’t hesitate to just ping us to take care of it for you!
