Being anonymous
-
I have a blog that I would like to keep anonymous. My husband hacked my computer and found it. Aside from starting all over…if I can change the name from “delightfully joy” to a different name, would that change everything so that if he searched those words, “Delightfully Joy” it would no longer be found? I have changed the password and made it private for now but I want to continue to write and gain readers and I don’t want to have to transfer all the posts manually. Help? I need my writing outlet.

Changing the name will do pretty much nothing. If I were you, I’d start a whole new blog with a whole new user ID. If you want, you can import the old posts to the new one, but that’s risky because he might remember titles, etc. He will certainly remember your username and easily find anything you write under that name.

You also need to clear your Browser history and cache etc. Can’t remember all of the places that your browser history is stored – some of it might also be in your modem or router. Lots of places to hide history.

He says he doesn’t even remember my current name. I was just going to change my username or the http address like from delightfullyjoy.wordpress to something completely different.wordpress…
I can change titles though when I import, right?
History and cache and all of that has been completely deleted. He actually found it through twitter and then went home and logged in because I used the same stupid password that I always use. (I’m Dumb!)
