Being charged for deleted blog
-
Hello,
I created this blog to try to solve a problem and have access to this forum, perhaps you can help. More than a decade ago I had a wordpress.com blog. Shortly after that I made the mistake of creating a work blog on my personal account. A few years ago I deleted my personal blog and account and thereby the work blog. Problem is work is still getting charged $99 for the work blog and I can’t get to it to cancel / delete.
I’ve tried to contact wp.com support and this is as far as I can get. I suppose next step, if I can’t get help from here, is to contact my credit card company to dispute the charge and explain my mistake and the bad business practices of wp.com
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You cannot be charged for a deleted site on a deleted account. To find out what that charge is about, check it out at https://wpchrg.wordpress.com/.
Starting a dispute will only cost you money and wordpress.com Staff won’t be able to sort this out. -
@mlapides116e30e170 – can you also let us know the URLs of each site?
As @staartmees indicated, it is not possible to delete a site or account that has an active upgrade. Also, since there’s no history of purchases, transactions, or billing activity under the account you’re currently logged into, we’re limited to what we can help with and advise here.
If you enter the charge details at https://wpchrg.wordpress.com/ we should be able to help you with this.
The transaction ID needed will be on your bank statement as
WordPressfollowed by a letter/number code. They’ll look like this:WordPress XXXXXXXXXXIf the charge on your bank statement does not follow that format, the charge was not made here at WordPress.com.
I hope that helps!

I tried https://wpchrg.wordpress.com/ — dead end, said try back later
wp.com charged my work credit card on 8/18/22 for a domain registration for a site we want to delete. WP.com will not let me into the site to delete it.
On 8/23/22 WP.com charged me $105.19 for WordPress.com Premium for the same site it will not let me access. I owned this site via my now deleted personal account. I can not get into the personal account.
On 2/11/22 WP.com charged me $105.19 for a different site we are trying to delete.
On 1/9/22 WP.com charged me $31.88 for another site we are trying to delete.
The sites in question are
whalingmuseumblog.wordpress.com
museumgreenhands.wordpress.com
museudabaleia-newbedford.orgAgain if I can’t get help eliminating these charges and deleted these site I will contact my credit card company to dispute these charges and the bad business practices of wp.com.

Hi there,
Thank you for providing the URLs in reference. I was able to find the account where the charges were made. The account that owns the site is not deleted. it appears that the email connected to the account was updated from yours to a different email connected to the company. Do you happen to remember what the new email is or who now operates under that email if not yourself?
We would definitely like to help you cancel out these charges and refund the last two charges, but we need to confirm ownership of the account. Do you have the login credentials to that account? The best bet is to check your bank statement and pull up the transaction IDs as @staff-heroponriki mentioned above.
WordPress XXXXXXXXXXWith that information, we can confirm ownership of the upgrades and cancel them out for you.
If you have that information, you can also fill out the account recovery form:
Hope this helps.

possibly tmallot@ or kcorralejo@ own the account. one still works here the other does not
-
Did you have any luck finding the transaction IDs? That is really going to be the quickest way to sort this out.
-
Yes –
{TXN IDs removed}
–whalingmuseumblog.wordpress.com — We want to export /download / copy content, so need to keep open before deleting, if that means no refund for this one, fine
–museumgreenhands.wordpress.com — we want to delete asap
–museudabaleia-newbedford.org — we want to delete asap
-
All of those sites are owned by the same user account. So all you need to do is to go to the account recovery form and use the transaction IDs to verify ownership. That should set you on your way to getting this fixed up.
