Being found on Google?
-
I understand that most of us want to be “findable” on search engines like Google as I see that questions about it being asked all the time and I have read most of the replies (as well as support doc) so far , but I still have not found a simple answer to this question…
HOW do you know if your being found in places like Google?
I (using another computer) logged into Google and typed in the search bar a few terms I thought would relate to my blog here and poof…my blog popped up as the first item in the Google search. Thinking I might be biased since I would know what to type I had a daughter who didn’t know I had this blog do the same thing and she too got my blog but it was 4th in the line this time.
So does this mean I am in good shape with Google?
If so I will be doing the happy chair dance, but I don’t want to jump the gun on that happiness.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You learn how to use search engines and then you can locate the information you need. The Google Webmaster’s Guide is an excellent resource and Bing has also put out a webmaster’s guide as well.

Thank you again. I just located a great article about this very subject and was headed back here to make this resolved but you beat me here…lol. I now understand and no I am not “happy chair dancing” at the moment, but give me some time… :)

I have both articles and videos on how to use search engines and how to render your blog discoverable by Google in my blog.

I’ve never consulted a psychiatrist either offline or online. When did you get your PHD in psychiatry and hang out your shingle?

One neat site I like to check out to see where I stand on Google for a lot of things (keyword rankings, page rank, and more misc) is http://www.quicksiterank.com/
I use it mostly to see where I stand on key words which is important for my blog. -
I was going to use that site as a permalink in one of my posts the other day. I’m still trying to learn which sites are worthy of linking

@joer223
I use the http://quicksiterank.com on a semi frequent basis and I find it useful. I find it unbiased in terms of where I rank in Google on certain things. If people are working on marketing their blog its important to know where their strengths and weaknesses are. -

regarding tfockler60, even if the person is bipolar is it really nice to insult the person that just helped you? There is a saying… don’t bite the hand that feeds you.

@1personofdifference you would have to know the whole story here to understand why I posted that reply and why I think she has a bi-polar attitude. That is not saying she IS bi-polar but that if you spend anytime in conversation with her chances are she will go from being as rude as possible to sickly sweet. As for her answering questions…well thats an opinion..most times its just…click on my face and visit my site. But in all fairness there are times when she does answer, problem is the answer is usually so techincal its hard to follow and if you say anything about it…well…
Either way I am done with this…everyone can form their own opinon.
