Benefits of own domain?

    Hello ,
    I have purchased a domain now. what are benifits I can get after this?
    – themes ?
    – Widget ?
    – plugin?

    Hi Vinay,

    Purchasing a domain name does not grant you any additional benefits apart from allowing you to omit the “.wordpress” part from your blog’s address.

    With regard to the three things you’ve mentioned above:

    Themes: If you have a free/Premium account on WordPress.com, you will still have to pay separately for each Premium theme. If you have a Business plan, you can access all Premium themes as part of your plan.

    Widgets: Irrespective of your account upgrades, you will still have access to the same widgets. The widget positions may change depending on your current theme.

    Plugins: Again, irrespective of your account upgrades, you won’t be able to use custom-plugins on WordPress.com.

    If you wish to use custom-plugins and themes, you should consider using a self-hosted version of WordPress along with your newly registered domain name. You can find more info about self-hosted sites here:

    If you use your domain name with your WordPress.com site, as mentioned earlier you will only be able to omit the “.wordpress” part of your blog’s address.
