Best option for starting over?
-
We started a new blog but didn’t compress our pictures and now all our memory is almost gone. What’s the best way to start over now that we know how to compress pictures and thus not take up all our allotted MB capacity?

Honest answer – upgrade. You can go from 50 megs to a gig of space for $20 a year. Else you’re going to have to edit every single picture, every single post containing those pictures, delete and reupload every single picture, etc.

It’s only two weeks old? I thought I used alot of pictures. lol But try getting a Photobucket or a Flickr account so that you won’t have to delete images. Resizing images helps and using thumbnails cuts down on bandwidth use.

TT – for info, I looked at one of the pictures on the blog and it’s 2.35mb. If there’s 10 of them that’s 23.5mb already. There’s pages on the blog which have images so killing 50mb is fairly easy.
Wellspring – As nosysnoop says, you could use photobucket or Flickr (I use Flickr) to store the images. You then don’t have to worry about file sizes.
For your info, the image I looked at was at the bottom of the “2006 trip logs” page and took ages to display on the screen.
Please let us know if you need more help.
