Best place for clips on a WordPress portfolio site
-
I’m just now building WordPress site at http://gregmunno.wordpress.com (although nothing is up there now), and was hoping for some advice.
I’m a writer/editor and, for starters, want to use the site as a place where perspective clients can view my clips and resume. I also want to link to my other homes on the Web (Linked In, Facebook, Twitter), and be able to share thoughts on my current work.
My clips are of two variety’s — JPEGs and PDFs of actual pages, often with nice photos and graphics — and plain text versions pulled from archives. Ideally I could organize them under various headings — Travel, Government, Crime, etc.
I favor a clean, minimal look that would be easy to navigate and wouldn’t distract from the work being presented.
Any advice would be wonderful. Specifically, I wonder what theme you would suggest using, and how you would go about organizing the clips. All on one “Clips” page? On a separate page for each clip? Entered in on the home page as a post and then categorized?
Thanks in advance and happy memorial day!

Thanks t3ck. Not so much a photo site as a site for published writing samples. Some have some visual appeal, many are just text.
Related question: If I create a “clips” page, can I have individual posts within that page — or perhaps create sub-“clips” pages and layer my samples that way?

You would be better off to use the wordpress.org software for that we’re limited to what when can do here at wordpress.com WordPress.com or WordPress.org ? The difference.
