Best practice is never ever creating duplicate content across domains. Read Google’s position of this here https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/66359?hl=en

This is the RSS feed URL for your posts http://cookecapemay.wordpress.com/feed/
You can control the length of the entry sent out on your RSS feed here Dashboard > Settings > Reading. Choose the “summary” setting for your RSS feed rather than to “full text”.Provided your website can draw from a feed then that’s all you need.
If it is not so equipped we do not provide support for any sites except WordPress.COM hosted blogs. In that case if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

Great link and article as always. I wasn’t planning on duplicating for sure but I didn’t want wp.com to think I was linking to an affiliate site either. Some blogs seem to provide a few lines of text but the read more link takes you to an external site. Does that make sense?
