Best SEO: WP.com vs WP.org

I want to use my blog to draw traffic to my Zazzle.com store. In reading about traffic and SEO it’s not clear to me which the best route to take is. I see 3 choices: WP.com as mysite.wordpress.com; WP.com and transfer my domain so that it’s mysite.com hosted by WP.com; or WP.org hosted somewhere. While I know that the site will never be ‘finished’ I’m not interested in spending a lot of time tinkering with the site. I’d like input on what the best choice might be.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you want to use your blog at WP.com to draw traffic to your Zazzle store, you could be in violation of the Terms of Service; you would have to run it by staff first for approval.

The simplest answer from a strict SEO point of view is to use WP.com as mysite.wordpress.com.

So far as TOS are concerned I have checked with the staff. What I told them is that I want to put only a photo that will contain a link to the Zazzle gallery. The response from the staff suggested that I could also do an About page that talked about the gallery with a link on the About page as well. The catch is that the blog is not just a storefront but is a legitimate blog with real articles about the subjects of my photos.

If you’ve run it by staff, then that’s fine. I just always raise the issue because in 90% of cases, it hasn’t occurred to people that there might be an issue.
