    Hi.

    I want to increase the quality of my logo.

    What is the best / recommended size of my logo to be set as, in pixel?
    – For the blog main header?
    – In the flavicon?
    – At the Author picture profile?

    Thank you.
    Amanda

    Blog main header.. it depends on the size of your header area. But if you want a simple header, then 200x 100px would be fine.

    Favicon 16 x 16px

    Author picture is 80×80 or 70×70 (depends on your web design).

    Hi Ebook,
    Thank you for the quick answer. Noted about the favicon and Author picture.

    On the blog main header, I would like a logo that take a full width of the page.
    So, to get the best optimal visual, is it best to upload a 200x100x logo and increase the width/hight on my css editor, or use a logo that already have the desired size ? Hope it makes sense ;)

    On WordPress.com, your Blavatar – which is also used as a favicon – should be at minimum 128 x 128 pixels square. 16 by 16 is too small on WordPress.com since we use the Blavatar in other places besides the browser favicon. More details here:

    Optimal logo size depends on your theme. Assuming you’re talking about Canard, the theme display a logo at a maximum of 400 by 90 pixels. If you upload a logo at max 800 by 180 px, that means it will still look sharp on high density screens (like retina).

    Let me know if this is clear. :)

    Don’t use CSS to increase a logo size, that doesn’t get sharp results.

    At the Author picture profile?

    Can you show me where you’re adding an author photo so I can have a look?

    Hi Kathy,

    Yes, I am using the canard theme on my blog. This is the css code I used for the header logo size:

    .header-image-inner {
    width: 100%;
    }

    I will set up my author profile on one of the featured tag, top right under my header.
    Using the demo link as a reference, (https://canarddemo.wordpress.com/), my author picture will be at either Venice” or “DJ tools” location/

    Thank you.

    At 100% width, it is still no big enough, I would like the logo to has a higher lengh.
    Would you recommend me to re upload a logo? If so, in png or jpeg? and how many pixel?
    Thank you.

    kazicomputer – ninaskitchen.wordpress.com is running an extremely old theme which doesn’t support either a logo or custom header. I’d strongly recommend choosing a newer theme. If you need further help, please start a new thread. Thanks.

    organicisblog – to clarify something important, Canard supports both a logo (under Site Title, Tagline, and Logo) and a custom header (under Header Image). These two display differently and have different maximum sizes. It looks like you’re using the custom header so I’ll address further comments to that, to avoid confusion :)

    Your custom header file is currently 721 pixels wide. The best way to get it to fill a wider area in your theme is to go back into your graphics program – or wherever you created this image – and revise the image so it’s 1260px wide, as that’s the maximum width supported by the theme.

    Once you create and upload your 1260px-wide file it should take up the full width of the header area.

    Give this a try, tweaking the fonts and colours as you wish – these are just examples:

    .footer-navigation {
      background-color: #eeeeee;
    }
    .footer-navigation ul a {
      font-family: Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    }
    .footer-navigation ul a:hover {
      color: #bb00bb;
    }

    For further CSS help, please post in the CSS Customization forums:

    It sounds like you will be adding an author photo by uploading it as a featured image on a post. If that’s the case, the recommended size for featured images in Canard is 1920 wide by 768 high.

    More size recommendations in the Quick Specs box at the bottom of the Canard setup guide: https://wordpress.com/themes/canard/
