best theme for a small business?

    I have just started to set up a site for a small 1 man IT support business. I won’t be blogging, flowing, allowing comments or likes. The site will really only be an information page for existing and prospective customers with a contact page that includes a form and thats already done.

    I would like both side navigation and top navigation leading to different static pages. About and Contact at the top and a list or services down the side.

    Any ideas on a good theme that allows supports this up front? I am happy to pay for the right theme. Can you please confirm that using WordPress is a good platform to give me what I want? I would be happy to customise the default theme if you think thats the way to go but at this point I am not sure how :-)

    Many small businesses run sites on WordPress.com. You might want to try looking through the theme directory, and using some of the filters to narrow down the results:

    You can narrow that down to two-column business themes by clicking “Find a theme” again, then clicking “Columns” and checking off “two columns”, which will lead you to this list:

    I’m sorry but there are so many themes and all of them support the addition of static pages and creation of custom menus. Many theme support sidebars too.

    In the final analysis, theme selection is subjective. May I suggest you click the … MORE link on this page http://en.wordpress.com/themes/ and use the filters in the searchbox there to narrow down your search?
