Best theme/plan for primary school/private pages

  There are many posts/videos about school websites but they don’t cover our requirements. I need to know/see an example where the site can have a simple daily news page and then classroom pages. For each classroom page, we would need a part for general news then another part for homework. This would have to be private in some way so that only parents/pupils belongng to specific groups could view their tasks. Would there be a way to do this with passwords or is that making it too complicated. Is there a way they can hand in their homework electronically and have the teacher comment? Also, can we have a function that allows parents to comment. The age group of children is below 11 years old. So parents will mainly be accessing the site. I’ve seen too many How Tos focusing on older children/young people. Any recommendations on themes/example sites/how to’s. Is this stuff possible on WordPress? Is Edublogs an option? Is there anything WordPress that can rival Google Classroom? Also, would we need to have a host site to help us if something goes wrong? To get rid of innapropriate content/pop ups etc? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks.
