Have you looked in the Theme Showcase?
Here are themes that have:
Custom background
Custom header
Post Sliderhttp://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/post-slider+custom-header+custom-background/
As far as a gradient background, you can either make a narrow, horizontally tiling image yourself with a solid color as background, or If you purchase the Custom Design upgrade and have CSS experience, you can add a gradient background via CSS.
As far as the icons, you can create and add them to any page or post directly.

One other thing: The website is a services website and I don’t want it to look like a blog. I don’t want comments or a block that says “comments are disabled.”
Thank you Jennifer, can any of those not look like blogs?

I don’t need help with that blog at all and this website I’m designing is not a blog.
What is the URL of the site you are designing? Is it hosted by WordPress.com?

You don’t do that. Themes that work on WordPress.com cannot be used on WordPress.org and vice versa. Once you make up your mind which version of the software you’re going to use, then post in the appropriate forum.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/making-a-business-website/If your site will be set up on WordPress.com:
If a slider is a must here’s another thing about blogs/sliders: Sliders here are blog post-based, but blog posts can also be “Media Releases” or “News Announcements.”I don’t want comments or a block that says “comments are disabled.”
On the site you might be building here, you would need to purchase the Custom Design upgrade (and know how to work with CSS) in order to hide their display.
Let us know if you need any further info.

I set up a site for a friend, 2011 Theme, comments are turned off and there is no “comments disabled” block on Posts or Pages – no CSS required
