Best way to Migrate wp.com to wp.com site

  I’m working with a client (with wp.com site), and developed a new site for them on my own wp.com account, and now I want to migrate/replace the client’s current wp.com site.

  Should I…
  1. transfer ownership of the dev site to the client, then switch their primary site to the newly dev site… or
  2. Export wp.com dev site and overwrite( import) into client’s current site… or
  3. Export wp.com dev site and create a new wp.com site on client account, then redirect their domain dns to the new site… or
  4. ?? other, better, faster, or unknown-to-me, solution

  Hi there, the best way to start would be to transfer the new site to their account: https://wordpress.com/support/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/

  If a custom domain you want to use is attached to the old site, they can contact us via https://wordpress.com/help/contact and we’ll take care of that. :)
