If you want to increase traffic then don’t listen to anyone who professes there are passive ways of doing that. Increasing traffic to a blog is hard work. If you want your blog to rank well in search engine results then that begins with creating and publishing original content ie. unique content that cannot be found anywhere else on the internet.

Two ways of attracting like-minded subscribers are (1) commenting meaningfully and frequently on blogs with similar content and (2) being active on social networking sites.

My blog is a blog that I publish my book that I am currently writing on. I have new chapters written on it every week or so, and what else I’d like to know is, What is the best type of formatting/theme for my blog?

Hi again,
I’m the same person but logged in under my other username.Blogs are essentially a reverse chronological order publishing tool wherein the most recent published post will display on top. You cannot change this order on a free hosted WordPress.com blog. It’s designed to serve your visitors as they come to read the most recent posts and will not be inclined to trawl through hundreds of posts to locate it.
See here for the option of creating a book-like structure > http://en.support.wordpress.com/write-a-book/ Perhaps that will work for you.
Or you could use a single sticky post as an index page > http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/#sticky-posts
Or you can falsify every date-stamp before publishing.

Thanks ever so much for you help! I got some great tips from your blog and very well appreciated it.
You’ve probably been blogging for a while (well really I have no idea), but do you have any tips? I’m open to all opinions.
Thanks again. -
Also, will this make my blog look uninteresting.
I’ve thought about it and have taken a short survey on what people want to see in websites. They want it simple to navigate around your website, but not so simple to where its boring to the viewers’ standards.
I followed the steps that timethief gave me in the link, and now my blog looks a little dull.
Please tell me what you think I should do.
