so i switched to stable
did a cold boot of app
and the autonote did not appear to upgrade.
i want the betas upgrades guys and gals please
most sincerely
i want to squash this crazy glitch
and return to smooth upgrades

Sorry, I’m not sure I understand. I think you’re saying you reinstalled the app and used the stable channel again.
Are you saying next that you are unable to switch to the beta channel, or that you did switch to the beta channel and the problem returned?

the very original time i first installed the app 15 some years ago and it is all in your archive if you want to backtrack everything
i installed the app and the default was stable.
i changed it THEN to beta channel i wanted to help develop the app as a daily user
about a month ago
i get an auto note to upgrade to 6.01
we are now at 6.04 beta something
each time i try to upgrade the wpappi click on the button to upgrade and restartand it just does not involke the upgrade. i am now holding at 6.0 and thats as far as i am
for a while there i uninstall and reinstall the app and then sometimes it will then involke the upgrade
not this time
i have the latest win 10 i have the latest edge browser which installs the wp webpage as an app

the edge browser and creating apps from within the browser and blocking your app from upgrading

Curiously, have you tried uninstalling, then deleting the WordPress.com folder under appdata?
You can find that by typing
%appdata%in your Cortana search bar. Try that, then try reinstalling fresh. Unless you’ve done that already. -

OK meirweiss, as long as you only delete the WordPress.com folder there, you should be okay. If you have been working on something locally and want to be sure it’s saved to drafts properly, that will be fine.

did exactly what you said completely
no help to install 6.04x beta
im now holding at 6.01
uninstalled everything again
founds crumbs folders wordpress all over my hd
purged as much as i could
still the programms installed reported wordpress 6.01
tried to uninstall that “program.” installed reportedly june 28th 2020
it just wont dissapear uninstall
list me everywhere besides appdata
where wordpress leaves this mess of data junk
i need to purge. all the crumbs which should have been uninstalled
as it stands now i reinstalled to 6.01 and changed to beta channel and i await the autonote pop up to try to install , i dont know hopefully 6.1 stable????? im not optimistic i need further advisement
this used to be a smooth seamless upgrade. now it is a big mess for me

Sorry it’s been such a rough time. Beta upgrades can be tricky by default, and Windows does sometimes put things here and there. Plus the files you mentioned might not be related to this app.

Can you clarify this — you’re awaiting the pop-up now? Does that mean the issue did not come back?

i am holding at 6.01 i should be receiving too quiet. the q is qill the auto note success invoke install ober the existing beta
and continue in same manner one beta upgrades one over the other install without getting jammed up

current ver win desktop 6.0.3 beta and somehow it has been too long since last beta popped up to upgrade on my desktop
which ver is the current beta now ?
all is working well w current ver
im itching for next beta i assume weekly approx
