  Can word press be used to create a bidding website?

  No. The only ecommerce options available here are the ones listed in this support doc: http://en.support.wordpress.com/ecommerce/

  To use the plugins you’ll need for a bidding website you’ll have to buy your own domain and hosting and set up a self-hosted site using WordPress.org.
