  Why is my credit card being billed for a FREE account? No phone number to contact customer support?

  Unfortunately, you failed to provide any details. Automattic Inc. https://automattic.com/ owns WordPress.com and other products like Akismet and VaultPress, etc. so this could be a charge related to one of them. It’s important to know that each charge is sent to the registered email address for each username account, so if you have more than one username account that could be confusing you. Also, if you have a wordpress.org account and a wordpress.com account that could be confusing you.

  What are the specifics please?

  I would be happy to assist you in cancelling and refunding your purchase. However, there is no history of any charges under the account you are contacting us from. To confirm ownership, post in this thread under the username/account that purchased the upgrade. Then, I can look into refunding the subscription purchase.
