Billing and correct plan

    Hello,

I’m wanting a web site that has around 6 pages. One of the pages will be a job search listing page. Could you recommend a plan ? would the business one be the best?
Plus would I be billed monthly? (a payment is taken from my account per month?)

    thanks
    chris

  • Hi Chris –

Tell me more about the jobs page and how you envision that page functioning. That’s going to dictate which plan is best.

For now though, I’d suggest just setting up a free site and getting familiar with things. These two pages are a great help.

The plans are charged once per year. You will pay the annual cost at the time of purchase. It is refundable for 30 days afterwards. Details at https://wordpress.com/pricing/ The business plan also comes with concierge screen share sessions which can be very helpful.

  • Hi there,

Yes, the Business Plan would be the best bet if you are interested in creating job boards because there are some good job board plugins that can be added to your site, and plugins require the Business Plan.

Plus would I be billed monthly? (a payment is taken from my account per month?)

Currently we do not have a monthly subscription option for our upgrades, only a yearly option. You can find out more information regarding our plans here:

Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

    Hello,

    Thank you for replying.

I actually have an app in the Android and iOS stores and I’m wanting to add a job board to the app. My two options are:

    1. Use a database to manage all the information and get all the jobs via code.
    2. Create a web site with a job board and direct a webView view to that site.

I’m looking into 2 because I’d only have to create job board once and just direct the iOS and android version of the app to that site. Which would make it easier and quicker.

The job board wouldn’t be too complicated I just want something simple to start. So the usual search commands ‘job title, keywords, skills’ and ‘location’ the result would display the result of the search and the user would select a job and would be presented with a the job page that includes

    Job title
    Pay
    Location
When the job ad was posted
    Company name
    Ref number
    Detailed description

Plus a button that would open their email app to attache a cv and cover letter to email the job poster directly. I don’t really want to manage cv storage or user profile, maybe at a later stage.

I guess the only downside of this approach would be that the user could navigate away from the job site from within the webView in the app. I just have to conduct further investigation.

Looking forward – I guess the job board add on would essentially be a database so would I be able to GET data from the web site /add on to be displayed in something other than a uiwebview, like a tableTableview for example?

    Thanks
    Chris

  • I suppose you could do that under a Business Plan here, but you’d need to first build a plugin to accommodate that, or maybe you can use https://wpjobmanager.com/ and then you’ll need to use https://developer.wordpress.com/docs/api/ to fetch the data.

Ok, that’s great. I will first start with the free version, get to know it and upgrade later.

    Thanks, everyone for your help
