Billing for domain mapping and registration

  I added a domain name to my account (canadianboycottcoalition.wordpress.co). The domain name is canadianboycottcoalition.ca. The registartion renewal date for the Domain on with the registrar (iPage) is August 9, 2015. However, my billing account shows that the renewal date will be January 25, 2015. Is this renewal for the Mapping only or does it include the registration? If it is for the registration, since I have already paid for the registration until August 9, 2015, I understand that I will paying twice for part of the term.

  If it is for mapping, do I understand correctly that I will be paying for both registration and mapping.

  Please clarify.

  Hi Curtis,

  The domain mapping upgrade you have here at WordPress.com lets you use your domain canadianboycottcoalition.ca with your WordPress.com site. That upgrade is valid through January 25, 2015.

  However, that’s separate from your domain registration. You also need to keep your domain registration up to date with your domain registrar, and that’s different from the upgrade you have here. You need both to keep using your domain name here.
