Billing Problem Lost my Domain
-
I need help! I cannot actually contact anyone from wordpress which I am about ready to report to the BBB for HORRIBLE business practices!!!!! There is no support here. I’m looking at a receipt for my domain purchase last year that says it was set up for reoccurring payments but somehow that didn’t actually happen and now I find out my domain is in some kind of limbo and I can’t get a hold of ANYONE to get it back! I spent 3 hours yesterday with Wix who hosts my site and Wild West Domains who supposedly owns the domain now because WordPress sold it to them and I’m here talking to thin air in some BS community forum instead of talking to an actual person to fix this problem. So what should I do now huh? Sit around for days until someone bothers to fix this problem that WORDPRESS created???? Yeah! Great way to save a buck WordPress!

That domain expired 29th May and is in the redemption period. There are now extra costs involved in asking the Registrar to recover it. I have added the modlook tag to ask a member of staff to assist you.

This is my receipt clearly showing that it is setup for reoccurring payments… Im not going to pay $80 to get my domain back for a billing issue that was NOT my fault.

Hi there,
This is a public forum. Please do not post private information like transaction IDs here, as that information can potentially be used by someone to gain access to your account.
As @themagicrobot indicated above, your domain expired and is now in redemption with our domain provider. They charge a $80 fee to restore a domain from redemption. We’ll need you to agree to this fee before we can get the recovery process started.
It appears automatic renewal on that domain was disabled on 8 September last year. We then sent several emails, the first one on 27 February, to remind you that the domain needs to be renewed. You would also have received emails directly from our domain provider both right before, and right after the domain expired. If you did not receive these emails your email provider might have blocked them as spam or filtered them somewhere else than the inbox.

I have sent the payment request to your the email on your account. As soon as you make the payment, let us know and we will contact the registrar.

Your ransom demand has been paid. Cost of doing business right? Stupid me thinking their would be a conversation about all of this. You’ve got your data and you’ve got my domain who cares how it all happened? You don’t. BTW, I have no idea how my payment was turned off of auto payment, but that doesn’t matter either. I figured that. Thats why I didn’t bother saying anything. You got what 100’s more people to get to? That’s right… so I’ll be moving right along … thanks for all the help!

Thank you for the payment. I’ve sent the redemption request to our registrar and we will restore the domain to your account as soon as they release it to us.

Your domain has been restored and I see that it is pointing to Wix, so you can now connect it to your site there.
Let us know if there is anything else we can help with.
