Billing Question– NEED HELP
-
I owned a website. I had previously thought I had terminated the site, because when I log into WP, it says ‘you have no sites.’ However, I just got a $300+ bill from WP for, I believe the old site– and have since found I can still log into the old site. When I log into WP I can’t see the site on my account– nor is my account showing any billing history or this latest bill. I haven’t used the site in at least 6 months. I do not want to renew the site– I thought it had been deleted. I need help figuring out how to shut things down and seek a refund.

Hi there,
What is the URL of the site in question?
The
lindseyrmcgee1ffe12ed4baccount you’re using to post here doesn’t own any sites on WordPress.com, and has never bought any upgrades from us.If you own an upgraded site with us, that site belongs to a different account, and you’d need to be logged in as that account to cancel it.
If you’re not sure what site the charge is for, please search for the charge at https://wpchrg.wordpress.com/. You can also use the Contact Us link on that page to contact our billing support team directly for further help with this – to track down the transaction we’ll need to get some additional information from you which we cannot discuss here in the public forums.

Hey there! When I look for the charge at the link you sent me, it says it was for the Business Plan for Lindseyrmcgee.com. But when I click to view the receipt, it goes back to my accounts page and says I don’t have any websites or charges.
When I log into the site directly (which I’m not sure why I can still do), it is under that same username and email. I do not have another account. but again, when I look under “my purchases” I see nothing. So– if I own nothing, and have no account and no upgrades, why am I being charged and how do I fix it?
I did try to submit via that Contact Us link last night. I’ll try again. Is there anyone I could call or who could reach out via email to help me?

I think that your browser might be automatically signing you back in to the account that you’ve been writing to us from. Instead, you need to get signed in to the
lindseyrmcgeeaccount. Remember that each user account requires a different email address. -
Hi Again. I log in to my website’s back end (via lindseyrmcgee.com/login/) with the same email as the lindseyrmcgee1ffe12ed4b account. I did this in incognito mode, and when I look at my little profile picture, it does list Lindseyrmcgee as the profile, but then when I try to go to that profile, it redirects to the other one. I only have one other active email and I already checked that one and there is no wordpress account for that email– in fact I tried to log in with one of my passwords and it just created a new account.
Is there any way from your end to refund the charge and just delete the account altogether? I don’t want or need the website or the account right now.
-
No, since we have absolutely no history of purchases, transactions, or billing activity of any kind under the account you’re currently logged into.
If you enter the charge details at https://wpchrg.wordpress.com/ we should be able to help you with this.
If you the charge is located using the above site, but you are not presented further options, please contact us via https://wordpress.com/support/contact/?whywasi=charged

I understand that, but I literally have no way to access this *other* account– i have no other email, and the only time i can see that profile it is in the back end of the website and when i try to access the profile from there it redirects. So, I can’t stop the purchases, can’t cancel it, can’t delete anything– I have no recourse from that end.
I’ve gone to those links and found the charge and filled out the forms. I don’t know what else to do. Is there really no way to speak with someone live? And no email where someone can help me that isn’t a public forum?
To the staff who are reading this, I know you are all doing your jobs, and that I appreciate. I hope that you can understand how genuinely frustrated and upset I am at a charge that I can’t seem to find any way to reverse– or stop from happening again.

For the account access issue, please send an email to
passwordhelp (at) wordpress (dot) comexplaining the situation, and we’ll see if there’s anything we can do for you. -
