    Hello everyone. I’m writing this post because I was charged yesterday with a 374 Canadian dollars bill from WordPress.com. It’s been over one year since the last time I’ve used WordPress and after that I’ve cancelled every account I have therefore I don’t understand why and from what website they could possibly be charging me.
    Not being able to enter any account (I’ve tried every email I’ve ever owned and as expected they aren’t registered on WordPress since I’ve cancelled everything), I’m currently typing from a friend account because I really need to get in contact with the support centre to get a refund for something I didn’t do and didn’t want to happen.

    Please help me out if possible because especially at my young age 374 dollars are a lot of money and I’m quite upset.

    Could you please share the URL/domain of the site you are working on?

    You can try to access your account with the account recovery tool if you don’t remember the email associated be sure to tick the box – https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery

    The problem is that the domain/URL I worked on about a year ago is not existing anymore, I’m almost sure it was cancelled.

    I know it was http://www.madmonkey.co but again almost sure it isn’t existing anymore.

    All I can really provide is the transaction on my bank account proving that it is from WordPress but nothing more really.

    I know my friend that I worked for still has an active website now called https://mackdaddy-inc.com which could be connected to this whole thing but she though that was cancelled as well therefore she has no idea how to access it, any help?

    Sorry but again at the age of 21 losing 400 dollars as you’ll understand can put you in a rough spot.

    I just realized that if you click on http://www.madmonkey.com it brings you to https://mackdaddy-inc.com so it must be that, is there a way for you guys to access it, check if that is actually it and cancel the transaction in order for me to get a refund.

    Please be patient until staff can reply, that is the fastest way to resolve your issue.

    Hi there,

    I was able to find the charge that you received for the WordPress.com Business Plan. However, I need to verify ownership before I can refund the purchase to you.

    We use Stripe as our payment processor, so you can find a unique code for the transaction on your bank or credit card statement, which you can provide us as proof of ownership.

    So, if you can look and find that code and provide it to us, we’ll be able to get you back into your account and process that refund for you.

    I will contact the bank in the next hour or so and find the code.

    Hello again,

    I just contacted my bank and they gave me 4 different codes related to the transaction:

    – Approval code (6 digits)
    – Merchant id (15 digits)
    – Category code (4 digits)
    – Terminal id (8 digits)

    Please let me know which one you’d need for the refund and how to provide it to you and I will move forward.

    I need the unique transaction ID which will be found on the user’s bank statement in the format WordPress 4W1PXA4BND and it is either a 8 or 10 digit code. if you have that code, let me know here, and I will email you to retrieve it from you.
