Billing — What happened to the $18/year basic blog service?

  I am not paying you $99 a year for what I regard as a non responsive service. If I cannot renew at that original level, or FREE (golly, that’s a new come on), I will shut this down. Seriously, you are not providing a level of service that warrants any upgrades.

  Hi there,

  You are still welcome to renew your domain for the same $18 which you previously purchased it for. If you do not want to keep that domain, you as well as all WordPress.com customers are always welcome to use our free service, it just does not include the optional upgrades (such as a custom domain, additional disk space, the ability to further customize your theme, etc).

  But at its core, the basic WordPress.com is always free! If you’d like to go that way please let me know and I can help out with that.
