Binge readers or something else? Bots?

    I have not written many new posts for my blog in several months, though I used to write daily for a year and a half in 2017 and early 2018. I have a few posts that do pop up high in google results, but in recent months, my blog has been like a ghost town. Then, about a week ago I noticed a sizable spike in views. The visitor numbers weren’t particularly high, but it was as if some were binge-reading my blog posts. Today I had 22 visitors only, but 230 views. What could be causing this? I’m not a tech savvy person. Could it be bots? Or are there binge readers visiting my blog?

    Any ideas about this? I haven’t written a post since mid May, and very few in the months that preceded that.

    Hi there,

    It is not bots, as we do not record bot visits in WordPress.com stats.

    Someone likely discovered your site via a Google result or an old shared post somewhere, and decided to stick around and read more of your posts.
